Diane Lane and Richard Gere re-team for Rodanthe

lou1.jpgDiane Lane and Richard Gere who co-starred in the 2002 movie Unfaithful are set to re-team for the romantic drama Nights in Rodanthe. The movie is based on a Nicholas Sparks romance novel and is the third book from the author to have been picked up by Warner Brothers after A Walk to Remember and Message in a Bottle. Although I dare say his novel The Notebook that was made into a movie in 2004 by New Line will be the one adaptation you have seen from his work. Plot info from Variety... In "Rodanthe," Gere will play a doctor who is traveling to reconcile with his estranged son. On the way, he checks into an inn in a North Carolina beach town. There, he has a life-changing romance with a woman who's trying to decide whether to stay in her unhappy marriage. Well the plot makes this movie sound like an absolute bore-fest but the fact that The Notebook was such a good movie and I rather enjoyed Lane and Gere's last team up a while back...I will keep an open mind for this thing. No word yet on who is directing but film is currently scheduled to begin in May. source - variety, coming soon
