Doctor Sleep Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

3. The Remarkable Supporting Cast

Doctor Sleep Abra
Warner Bros.

In addition to the fine performances of Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson, there's some terrific work from a top-notch ensemble cast.

Flanagan has proven himself extremely capable of working with young actors in the past and, in this case, gets incredible work out of Kyliegh Curran, who makes for an extremely likeable young "sidekick" to Danny for most of the movie.

Elsewhere, Cliff Curtis is fantastic as Danny's pal Billy, Jacob Tremblay gets a brief but memorable role as one of the children preyed upon by Rose, and Twin Peaks/Addams Family legend Carel Struycken - who previously appeared in Flanagan's Gerald's Game - gets a neat role as one of Rose's aged followers.

There are also a few welcome cameos for horror fans to keep their eyes peeled for, but spoiling them would be telling.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
