Doctor Strange: 10 Best Moments
Stoners are gonna love it.
If you're lucky enough to live anywhere that, well, isn't the U.S., there's a good chance you're now able to see Marvel's latest superhero movie for yourself, or certainly soon enough anyway.
Critics are largely praising Doctor Strange as a visually magnificent, sharply-acted spin on the usual origin story formula (even if it ultimately doesn't change the game all that much) and with damn good reason.
There are so many spectacular, hilarious and straight-up memorable sequences in this movie that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are sure to be talking about for years to come.
Above all else, it marks an extremely exciting new chapter of the franchise, and adds a considerable dollop of star power to the already ridiculously stacked Avengers: Infinity War.
It's tough to cherry-pick just a few scenes that rise above the rest, but here are the 10 best moments from Doctor Strange.
Obviously, SPOILERS follow.
10. Wong Listens To Beyonce
An excellent example of how entertaining the movie's comic relief is occurs when Strange meets Kamar-Tar's new custodian Wong (Benedict Wong) for the first time, and jokingly asks whether his solitary moniker is similar to Adele, Aristotle, Drake, Beyonce or even Eminem. Wong, naturally, is not very amused.
Hilariously, a few moments later Wong can be seen working in Kamar-Taj, wearing earbuds and listening to Beyonce's unforgettable hit "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)", the tune faintly blaring out over the earbuds.
While melding pop culture into a property as otherworldly as this could come off as awkward, it in fact lands perfectly, and helps effortlessly endear the audience to the terrific Wong.
