Doctor Strange: 11 Giant Questions It Leaves Unanswered

2. When Was The Thor Scene Set?

The Question: We know that Strange agreeing to help Thor has some sort of link to Thor: Ragnarok, but when exactly did the scene take place? Just before Ragnarok? Part-way through it? Or perhaps even afterwards?

The Likely Answer: First off, it taking place after Ragnarok just seems like an odd move as it shifts us too far into the future and somewhat takes the intrigue away from that movie, so no to that.

During Ragnarok is possible (after all, Ant-Man's post-credits scene was straight-up torn out of Civil War), though giving away Strange's first interaction with Thor ahead of time would be a mistake.

It seems most sensible and likely that this occurs in the lead-up to Ragnarok, meaning the already-stacked movie doesn't have to go through the rigmarole of introducing Strange to Thor if the former does indeed have a part in the movie.
