Doctor Strange 2: 10 Multiverse Cameos That Would Break The Internet

7. Tom Hardy/Topher Grace As Venom

Speaking of Sony crossovers, here's one that literally just happened.

As half the planet knows by now, Tom Hardy's Venom appeared in the mid-credits scene of No Way Home, enjoying a drink in a bar (opposite Dani Rojas from Ted Lasso!) before being sent back to his own universe.

Because of this, it might feel weird if the very next MCU movie also has Venom hopping through the multiverse, but at the same time, there's no denying that cinema crowds would get a massive kick out of seeing Venom fight Doctor Strange, or seeing him show up for a quick one-liner.

Here's a prospect that's even more tantalising though: what if Venom does show up, but it's the Topher Grace version of the character instead?

Sure, he isn't as beloved as Hardy, but remember, Raimi has some unfinished business with Grace's Venom. His portrayal in Spider-Man 3 received a ton of flack from fans, so how awesome would it be if Multiverse Of Madness gave Raimi (and Grace) a shot at redemption?

This is exactly what happened with Tobey and Andrew in No Way Home: both those Spider-Men have now ended their tenures on a high note, and Andrew even got some closure on his guilt, after failing to save Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

It'll be hard to do something similar with Grace's Venom if he's only around for a cameo, but even if it's just ten seconds, Raimi at least has an opportunity to close the character's book on a more positive note than Spider-Man 3 did.
