Doctor Strange: 7 Tony Stark Cameos That Would Rule

There must always be a Stark in Marvel movies.

Tony Stark is going to be in Doctor Strange!

Ok, that's total hyperbole. News has emerged recently (and by news, I mean Twitter, because 2016) that the next Marvel movie may have underwent reshoots, since Benedict Wong posted the following tweet:

It gave everyone reason to pause, since Doctor Strange was supposed to have wrapped filming a while back, given the film is due out in November. Reshoots are nothing major, of course, and many tentpole films have them. However, this coincided with another tweet, from, er, The Angry Ginger:

Obviously that has to be taken with an entire shaker full of salt, and there's nothing so far to corroborate it. However, it does actually make a lot of sense that Stark would appear in the movie. From a business point of view, Robert Downey Jr. is still Marvel's biggest draw, and Strange is perhaps their hardest sell, with not much hype outside of the diehard fanbase right now.

Within the narrative is what really matters though (to viewers, if not the people concerned with how much the film makes), but even there it could feasibly work. Stark and Strange have shared page-time in the comics, both are based in New York, and they're already or set to be big parts of the MCU. It may not be confirmed, but it's fun to think about how it might go down.

7. Spider-Man: Homecoming Setup

If Tony Stark is to appear in Doctor Strange, then this seems like one of the easiest ways to pull it off. Ok, it wouldn't technically be in Doctor Strange, as there wouldn't necessarily have to be any interaction with the Sorcerer Supreme, but rather a standalone post-credits scene.

Since Spider-Man: Homecoming is a film we know Robert Downey Jr. will be in, and that's coming a couple of films after Doctor Strange (with Guardians of the Galaxy in between), then it's a timely fit for Marvel to start promoting it here, especially since they'll no doubt want to make the most of the fact that they have Spidey back in the MCU.

It could well be a scene taken from the movie, much like the Bucky scene at the end of Ant-Man, or they could find some way of fitting Strange into it: with Stark and Tom Holland's Peter Parker together, watching a news broadcast about Stephen Strange and/or having a conversation about him, and Stark talking of wanting to bring him in to the Avengers, probably with one (if not the pair of them) delivering some solid quips about him too.
