Doctor Strange: 9 Big Implications For Phase 3 And Beyond

6. It Opens Up Other Dimensions

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has other worlds besides Earth; the Guardians explore space, and Thor lives in Asgard, one of the Nine Realms. Ant-Man took this another step further with the quantum-realm, but it's Doctor Strange that really opens up the MCU to alternate dimensions.

The movie explores no less than three separate dimensions, all with something different to offer: the astral dimension, where you can leave your body; the mirror dimension, where things can't affect the real world; and most pertinently the dark dimension, which holds a lot of power and isn't affected by time.

More are hinted at too, but even just those three open up huge possibilities for the MCU. The mirror dimension could come in handy during certain battles. And the dark dimension may well be an entry point for many villains yet to come. The multiverse means Marvel can start to go almost anywhere, which is pretty exciting to think about.
