If you're among the many who complained about Multiverse of Madness' trailers giving way too much away - namely the presence of Professor X (Patrick Stewart) as a member of the Illuminati - fear not, because that's really just the tip of the iceberg where fan service is concerned.

Needless to say, there are some absolutely huge cameos and general surprises in store for comic book fans both die-hard and casual, Raimi using the multiverse conceit as a sandbox to playfully experiment with various characters fans have wanted to see on-screen for years.

While some of these moments could certainly be hinting at future MCU stories, others are clearly mere throwaway one-offs, and though they sometimes stick out a little within the fabric of the overall story, they're sure to leave a smile on most fans' faces.

If the multiverse is effectively a Pandora's Box that can't easily be closed, at least it can serve as a vehicle for glimpses of crowd-pleasing hypotheticals.
