Doctor Strange Reviews: 10 Big Things We Learned

2. The Film Is Flawed...

In spite of a lot of positive buzz and praise for the acting performances and insular nature of Doctor Strange, it would be a mistake to presume that the film is as perfect as our protagonists well-groomed facial hair.

Much like a lot of the Marvel films, Doctor Strange is not without its flaws and though they do not sound catastrophic it would be remiss to ignore them, critical as we are.

Screencrush's Matt Singer writes "it’s glorious to look at (and the rare blockbuster where the 3D genuinely adds something to the experience) but the people are kind of dull.” While DenofGeek take aim at the script itself saying "it’s a real shame that the story itself isn’t tighter" with Cinemablend echoing this with the opinion that the film "feels like it's missing a unique narrative hook".

Though flaws are all part and parcel of the film experience (and often they're the most fun to talk about afterwards) as well as with typical origin stories, it is a pity that Doctor Strange won't be a five star experience.
