Don't Expect The Joker To Cameo In Justice League

Mr J won't have the last laugh. Yet.

Joker Justice

Were you upset about the way The Joker was basically cut out of Suicide Squad and replaced with an emo love-sick puppy who looked like him but didn't really act like him? Well, for a while there you could have taken solace in the fact that he was going to appear more in Justice League, thanks to a new rumour.

Sadly, that was all a bit short lived. According to The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez, it's a load of cobblers:

He is now apparently the Word Of God on such matters, so it's probably one to file away for now.

To be fair, a Joker appearance wouldn't have made a great deal of sense, and it would have been retreading similar waters to Suicide Squad. Had he ended the movie locked up in Arkham Asylum, then maybe a cameo would have made sense, but he's still out on the loose and you would suspect lying low for at least a little while to enjoy the spoils of war. Or Harley Quinn to you.

Anyway, Deathstroke is set to be apparently be the main villain in The Batman, so it wouldn't have been right to set up more involvement from The Joker at this stage. Maybe he'll get his day again for a Batfleck sequel or a Justice League sequel, but it might be that Warner Bros are trying to distance themselves a little from the critical maulings they've been handed recently.
