Dream Casting The Losers Club From 'It' As Adults For The Sequel
5. Eddie Kaspbrak: Adam Scott
Jack Dylan Grazer is a great Eddie Kaspbrak in Part I, really selling the feeble, germaphobic kid that often plays sidekick to Big Bill Denbrough. And while in Part II Eddie is still that same hypochondriac, he’s now stepped out of the shadow of Big Bill and actually (kind of) wants to be his own man. He’s conflicted by everything that’s happening and, while deep down he wants to think of himself as brave, what he really wants it to go home and leave the monster hunting business to someone else.
A veteran of comedy mixed with horror, Adam Scott could play the hopeless, in-over-his-head tones of Eddie, while also playing the smaller moments that are needed to make him human. Physically, Scott embodies the skinny, nerdy adult Eddie, but he also has the range and ability to be much more. Look no further than Scott’s turn in Big Little Lies to see what he can do with an unexpected role.
By appearing in It: Part II, Scott would bring a whole range of emotion to a role that could easily be one-note in the wrong actor’s hands. Often hopeless, scared, stand-offish, and sometimes funny, an Eddie Kaspbrak played by Adam Scott would be a memorable one.
