Dream Casting The Losers Club From 'It' As Adults For The Sequel

4. Stanley Uris: Daniel Radcliffe

Bill Denbrough 2
New Line / Entertainment One

Wyatt Oleff does a fantastic job as the careful and neat Stan Uris in Part I, and in his own small way he’s one of the more important characters of both parts of the story. Without getting too much into spoilers, unless big changes are made from the book an adult Stan wouldn’t be in very much of Part II, which is why it’s fun to swing for the fences and cast a big name for this role. The Stanley Uris of Part II should make an impact in a short amount of screen-time while being recognizably similar to the Stan of Part I. For those reasons Daniel Radcliffe is the Stan everyone should want to see.

Radcliffe’s post-Potter career has been defined by his ability to take risks in all genres that have paid off perfectly. His first big non-Harry role was actually in the horror film The Woman In Black, so horror is no strange genre to Radcliffe. Add to that his dramatic turn in Kill Your Darlings, his comedic-horror role in Horns, and his stellar outing in the rom-com What If, and you have an actor who can shine in all genres, which is perfect for the small part of Stan.

Stanley Uris is a character that has to stand out immediately in Part II, and from there he must cast a shadow over the rest of the film. Only an actor of Radcliffe’s calibre could pull off such a tricky task.
