So how about this instead: take all the important bits of The Cursed Earth - the setting, the introduction of lots of important elements of Dredd and Mega-City One backstory - but transplant them into an adaptation of Cursed Earth Asylum, another Dredd novel that manages to encapsulate a lot of elements and themes mentioned in the outlines on numbers 15-5 on this list. Besides clever use of Anderson's powers, the existence of psychics isn't dwelled on too much in the first Dredd, so Cursed Earth Asylum would give us a chance to delve into that a little more. A dangerous, incredibly powerful psychic named Soon is being held in an insane asylum in - well done if you guessed this - the Cursed Earth. Except then he escapes, and it's up to Dredd and a team of recruits to find him (like The Hunting Party!) The third twist? The cadets all wind up dead, and Dredd is framed as the murderer...
