Dredd TV Show: 8 Reasons Why It MUST Happen
3. Dredd Could Lead To More 2000 AD Shows
If the proposed Dredd TV show is a hit, and we can be optimistic that it would be based on how the film panned out, its success could clear the way for more 2000 AD properties to break into television.
Titles like Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dog and ABC Warriors have become criminally unappreciated in the modern age and dedicated TV shows could be the way to introduce them to a new generation.
Each of these properties exists in a shared universe with Judge Dredd and have crossed over with the hardboiled lawman in the world of comic books.
Strontium Dog's Johnny Alpha crossed paths with Dredd in the Top Dog and Judgement Day arcs, and fans may also remember him arresting Rogue Trooper.
With this in mind, the Dredd TV series could serve as a vehicle to launch the other 2000 AD shows, introducing these characters with cameos before they fly solo.
Furthermore, rights holder Rebellion could take a page out of the Marvel book and build towards an epic crossover series where all of these characters team up to take down a bigger threat.
