Early word on Fincher's next movie

One of my absolute most anticipated movies of 2008 is THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON, the 7th feature film from David Fincher and the third team-up with his regular star Brad Pitt. The movie is an adaptation of a F. Scott Fitzgerald short story where our lead starts aging backwards, which has disastrous consequences for his life, specifically his relationship with Cate Blanchett.

It's a project that has intrigued me greatly ever since Fincher signed up to it. I love these kind of 'what if' sci-fi tales and with Fincher's ZODIAC easily being one of the best movies of last year, I can't see how it can be anything other than great. Now the movie doesn't open till November but world has leaked to Hollywood Elsewhere from a costume designer who is working on the film (she has worked with Steven Soderbergh and Michael Mann in the past so she isn't' easily star struck), who calls the work she has seen on the movie €œone of the highlights of her career.€
"Top to bottom she said the set and production was a dream, that both David Fincher and Brad Pitt were consummate professionals, and that the script was top-notch -- the only script she can recall making her cry, she said. She added that the look and scope of design of the film while ambitious is also intricate and exacting "Furthermore, she mentioned that some of the sequences they saw that had been edited were absolutely stunning. Her desciption of the mood of those who worked on it is that of bated breath -- a near universal belief that they have made an outstanding and moving film, one that transcends and one they wish not to jinx by too much loose talk.
Also in the movie are Tilda Swinton, Julia Ormond, Jason Flemyng, Ed Metzger, Taraji P. Henson and the cool Elias Kosteas. Here's an image below taken from a magazine (I found it at the IMDB message boards) where you can see the extensive digital aging effects that have turned Brad Pitt's face into that of a baby. Very creepy indeed. You can see baby Pitt when the movie opens in November...
