The World's End - The Cross Hands The fourth pub on the trail is The Cross Hands, which can be a reference to two plot devices. On the one hand, it€™s the first pub where the two separate narratives €“ a drinking reunion and an alien invasion €“ finally cross each other with the fight in the bathroom. A less portentous way of looking at it would be that The Cross Hands is a reference to the fighting which finally occurs in the pub, with €˜cross hands€™ being an obvious reference to the fact that our central characters and the teenage robots end up punching each other a lot.
