Shaun and Eds serious and justifiably pissed-off flatmate Pete was played by Peter Serafinowicz, who coincidentally also voiced Darth Maul. Serafinowicz was in Wright and Peggs former TV series Spaced where he played Duane Benzie, who answered his phone with the line Dom, Hi. Looking to carry on continuity, Wright and Peggs script featured him answering the phone and using the same line as his former Spaced role, as well as prophetically telling Frosts Ed that if he wanted to live like an animal, he should go live in the shed something he does when zombified come the end.
