Edgar Wright: The Definitive Guide To Homages, Influences And References

Edgar Wright - Aaronson The existence of €˜ginger nut€™ Aaron A. Aaranson is a reference to The Simpsons episode €˜And Maggie Makes Three,€™ where Patty and Selma tells Aaron A. Aaronson €“ the first name in the Springfield phonebook €“ about Marge€™s pregnancy, with the implication that he, along with the last-placed Zydowksi, are the biggest gossips in town. Aaron A. Aaronson is also alphabetically the first person to vote for Sideshow Bob€™s mayoral bid in €˜Sideshow Bob Roberts.€™ Pegg is a massive Simpsons fan, which probably explains the reference. Wright has fun with the name later though €“ after the death of Martin Blower the two detectives (the Andes) start making wisecracks about going through the phonebook starting with Aaronson. He later turns out to be the little ginger kid at the model village, and just to make a point features last on the credit reel.
