This being Sean Bean, he looks as if he is about to win before being shot through the neck with a grappling hook and being hung to death. The parallels with Dr. Hatcher are uncanny theyre both doctors, they both look like theyre about to win and they both get foiled by a shooting. Plus, the shooting also echoes well with Danny shooting Hatcher with an airgun at the fair, which is itself a reference to Ed from Shaun of the Dead, who once boasted he shot his sister in the leg with an air rifle. Granted, Dr. Hatcher isnt Dannys sister, but you cant fail to see the resemblance.
