Eternals: 10 Biggest Changes From The Comics
1. Humanity Was Created By The Celestials
The most vital part of The Eternals mythos that was changed from the film was the lore detail that the Celestials didn't just send The Eternals to help humanity along its development, but actually CREATED the human race alongside The Eternals and the Deviants.
Now, in the film, the Celestials are credited for creating the Earth itself, but humanity kinda came about on its own because after a planet is created, Celestials don't have a reason to give a rat's ass which fish crawls out of the ocean the longest.
In the comics, however, humanity, The Eternals, and The Deviants were all part of the same singular grand design of the Celestials.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out why this change was made during the transition from page to screen. Christian mom groups are scarier than any Marvel villain can hope to be, after all.
