Everest's IMAX Trailer Is As Tense As It Is Star-Studded

Think Gravity on a mountain.

Everest had me at the cast - Josh Brolin, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Jake Gyllenhaal?! Heck, I still like Jason Clarke even after the mess that was Terminator Genisys. But as its September release gets closer, we've been getting a few trailers for Baltasar Kormákur's climbing movie that make it look even more exciting. Imagine Into The Void, only with a larger, A-List cast, or Gravity on a mountain. Sure, Kormákur hasn't got the best track record - he's the guy behind Contraband - but maybe it's the case of picking bad projects, rather than poor filmmaking chops. That's certainly the impression I've got from the atmospheric marketing campaign. On that note, the latest trailer has just dropped. Technically it's for the IMAX release, so as you'd expect there's several large scale set-pieces shown - Josh Brolin hanging over a never-ending drop and the team of climbers coming up against a massive storm - but it also puts focus on the character's backstories, particularly Clarke's lead. Give it a watch below and let us know what you think in the comments. What gets me really excited about this is that the shoot actually went to Everest and shot at and around the base camp, so while there's clearly some CGI augmentation at work, there should some be proper realism here. Fingers crossed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEWmWo2oekw Everest is in cinemas on 18th September, 2015.
