8. Catwoman (Batman Returns)
She gets overshadowed hugely by Danny DeVitos excellent take on the Penguin (more on him later), but Michelle Pfeiffers Catwoman from Tim Burtons Batman Returns - is still worthy of our attention. Sultry, seductive and sinister Pfeiffers Selina Kyle is the greatest femme fatale that Batman has faced on the big screen so far. Burton gifted Pfeiffer with a brilliant - and pacey origin story for Selina Kyle. She discovers that her boss (Christopher Walkens Max Shreck) is up to no good, and gets pushed out of a window for it. Cats lick her wounds, and she wakes up mentally unhinged... and hell-bent on becoming a vigilante. One memorable homemade costume later, and Selina begins exacting revenge on Shreck. She vandalises his department store and attempts to murder him numerous times. She teams up with the Penguin, too, to try and stop Batman. Despite not being the main threat of the movie, Pfeiffers Catwoman is a formidable for Batman. Pfeiffer plays the vengeful role with aplomb, proving that causing trouble in Gotham isnt just a mans game. Its a shame not all the screen Catwomen are quite this impressive.
