9. Captain Marvel (2019)

Box Office: $1.128 billion

Despite all of those movie bros trying to dent its appeal (just as they did so successfully with Black Panther), Captain Marvel has now passed the billion dollar threshold and is still some way away from coming out of cinemas.

It's far from the best MCU movie, but it has some great moments and is a strong introduction to a character who will be key to the future of the MCU.

It's nostalgic, funny and has both heart and spectacle and it's great to see a female-led MCU movie doing this well, if only so that Mrvel sanction more of them.
