Sure, the second solo MCU Spider-Man movie has some issues - both technically and in terms of the story-telling - but it's mostly just hugely entertaining and a great way to put a cap on Tony Stark's story. Yes, it slightly detracted from the succinct legacy he left at the end of Endgame, but it was actually pretty fitting when you think about it. Plus, the twists are satisfying and the surprises are huge and irresistible.

Inevitably, the post-credits scenes ended up generating a lot of the post-release conversation, given what they mean for the future, , but the sequel deserves more than to be reduced to that. Chief among its selling points are a truly great performance by Jake Gyllenhaal and the chemistry between Peter Parker and MJ.

There is also some of the most impressive VFX work in the MCU - particularly in the Mysterio nightmare sequence - and a commitment to imaginative, creative shot making that is unprecedented in the franchise too.
