Every Bong Joon-Ho Film Ranked Worst To Best
1. Parasite
We end, of course, with his most recent and triumphant film to date. And do not worry, we will be avoiding any spoilers here.
Parasite starts with the Kim family, who are struggling to make ends meet as they work low-paying temporary jobs. The son of the family, Ki-woo, is presented with an opportunity by one of his friends to take over his position as an English tutor for the wealthy Park families daughter while he leaves to study abroad. As the son poses as a university student and gains the trust of the Park family, he is slowly able to recommend more members of his own family as skilled workers, and pretty soon, his entire family works for the Park family in some capacity.
Things go well at first, but very soon things start to fall apart as the Kim family try to maintain their lies.
Not only did the film become Bong’s first film to gross over $100 million worldwide, its success at the Oscars has lead to the films American distributor, Neon, expanding the number of theatres scheduled to showcase the film in February.
So if you haven’t seen it already, now is the best time to do so.
