Every DCEU Movie Ranked By Box Office Success

1. Aquaman - $1.148 Billion

The Suicide Squad
Warner Bros.

In a similar way to Harley Quinn rising as a huge asset to DC and Warner Bros. from the woeful Suicide Squad, Arthur Curry was one of the few shining lights to come from the theatrical release of Justice League. Jason Momoa is one of the most likeable personalities in all of Hollywood, and his new, edgy take on Aquaman was a hit with just about everyone who went to see Justice League.

The character may have been wasted in the DCEU’s biggest team-up to date, and Warner Bros. may have done it the wrong way round, but at the very least it managed to hype up his solo movie.

Directed by James Wan, and starring Momoa in the leading role, Aquaman released the following year after Justice League and enjoyed box office success the DCEU has enjoyed neither before or since. Not only was this the DCEU’s biggest hit financially, it is the second highest grossing movie WB have ever released - behind only Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Though not a bad movie by any stretch, Aquaman isn’t the strongest movie in the DCEU’s catalogue, and like Wonder Woman, its success at the box office may ultimately lead to a disappointing figure when Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is released next year.
