Potential Retcon: The S.H.I.E.L.D. Map In Iron Man 2

One of the biggest examples of Marvel's ability to carefully think ahead was S.H.I.E.L.D.'s persons of interest map at the end of Iron Man 2, which included references to movies on the horizon (frozen Captain America in Greenland, the church Red Skull found the Tesseract in Norway, Thor in New Mexico), films that wouldn't be announced for years (there's one over Wakanda) and some that still haven't paid off (that's Atlantis in the middle of the sea).

One of the uncertain locations is a lock over New York, which could be any number of events. It was possibly intended at first to be Hulk, who obviously fought Abomination there at the end of his lone standalone. However, as seen on other monitors, this is around the time of the Culver University battle with the military, which took place in West Virginia, a fair way from the marker.

Accepting that discrepancy, then who could it be? It could be another Tony Stark nod (there's one mark over his Malibu mansion), alluding to the Stark-cum-Avengers Tower or his recent fight against Whiplash, but it's possible (and could likely be retconned to confirm as such) that this is actually Stephen Strange. He was picked out by Project Insight, after all, and as he's going to be bending dimensions there's nothing to say he's not turned up in the past somehow, bringing him to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s attention.
