Every James Bond Finale Ranked

11. No Time To Die - Safin's Island

James Bond Quantum of Solace
Universal

There's no sugar-coating it: No Time to Die's finale is the most shocking Bond ending of all time. It did the unthinkable - it killed off James Bond.

This was a huge risk, but it paid off in spades. James Bond's heroic sacrifice was a beautifully emotional and brilliantly acted scene that'll leave viewers everywhere crying like nothing else in Bond history, and it was also a perfectly fitting conclusion for this incarnation of Bond - he's finally overcome the trauma he experienced in Casino Royale and had learned to love again.

As for the rest of the finale, it's (mostly) pretty awesome. The direction is mesmerising, the combat scenes are absolutely exhilarating and it offers one of the best Bond action scenes of all time: that insane one-take staircase fight.

Due to how amazing the ending was it's hard not to put this finale higher, but it was too long (like the rest of the film) and Safin (Rami Malek) was such a boring villain too. It also feels like a missed opportunity that Blofeld wasn't the main villain instead; him being responsible for Bond's death would've been far better than it being some random, low-grade Bond villain Bond didn't even know.

But still, other than that, bravo.
