Giulietta Da Vinci (Maria Grazia Cucinotta) is an assassin working for Renard, one of the film's main villains. She's the one who Bond is chasing in the film's incredible opening boat chase on the River Thames and shortly before that, she also kills a Swiss banker Bond was trying to interrogate.

As characters go she's a non-entity, but she did take part in an amazing pre-credits scene, so that raises her up. She ultimately commits suicide rather than be captured; Bond calls up to her "I can protect you!" and she replies "Not from him!" before blowing up the hot-air balloon she's on.

That was a nice way of foreshadowing the threat Renard would pose.
