45. Nick Nack - The Man With The Golden Gun

Adolph Gettler James Bond

Nick Nack (Herve Villechaize), a dwarf who is the main henchman of Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) in The Man with the Golden Gun, is another one of the worst Bond henchmen of all time.

He's little more than a vehicle for tiresome comedy and as such, it's absolutely impossible to take him seriously in any way. Inevitably, Nick Nack falls totally flat as a villain, while the many derisive jokes about his height throughout the film's script haven't aged well at all.

Nick Nack also participates in one of the film's worst moments: a dreadful final fight scene (in which he somehow keeps teleporting around a ship's cabin) where he goes after Bond and tries to get revenge for the death of his boss. Bond ultimately shuts him in a suitcase and then leaves him in a lobster pot on the mast of the ship they're on.

Villechaize's performance is mildly entertaining but since this character was clearly only there for comedy and not as a genuine threat to Bond, Nick Nack still makes for a truly terrible bad guy overall.
