Every James Bond Movie Pre-Credits Scene Ranked Worst To Best

7. Spectre - The Day Of The Dead

James Bond Goldeneye Opening
Columbia Pictures/MGM

Spectre has a truly brilliant opening that the rest of the film, unsurprisingly, couldn't quite top.

It begins with that now-famous and utterly incredible four-minute tracking shot, which is then followed by an epic fight on a helicopter that benefits from the full force of Sam Mendes' directional skills as well as the superb work by the film's stunt team.

There is one stupid moment where Bond falls down off a building and lands on a sofa that is conveniently right below him, but other than that, it's a terrific opening that was more than worth the the considerable effort that went into organizing the shoot, which included closing down an entire square and getting thousands of extras on site.

Unfortunately, this particular opening wasn't necessarily a sign of things to come as while Spectre is a perfectly good instalment, it never reaches the heights of this opening again nor did it live up to the considerable pre-release hype.
