Every James Bond Villain Ranked Worst To Best
16. Blofeld (Christoph Waltz) - Spectre
Eon have finally reclaimed the rights for Blofeld now and brought him back in Spectre. Unfortunately, this incarnation was a huge let-down and Spectre made several terrible blunders with him.
The first big mistake was not immediately revealing that this was actually Blofeld. The character was going by the name Franz Oberhauser, but in spite of the endless denials from the film's cast and crew, it was painfully obvious that he was actually Blofeld and the reveal of this in the film was not a surprise in any way.
As for the character himself, the writing was totally off here. He's in the film for 25 minutes at most and the film gives him a ghastly backstory. He and Bond were stepbrothers and Blofeld hates Bond because he feels his father neglected him in favour of Bond. Blofeld is motivated by brotherly jealousy... hopefully, someone got fired for suggesting that.
As well as this, Spectre reveals that Blofeld was responsible for the events of the first three Craig films, which doesn't make any sense.
So yes, this character was a big let-down, but despite being wasted Christoph Waltz was, as you'd expect, very solid in the part and he elevates this character by a few spots.
