Every John Cena Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

9. The Marine (2006)

The Marine John Cena

The Marine franchise might have gone pretty sour since it swapped leads and John Cena was replaced by Ted DiBiase Jr and then The Miz, but the first one isn't the worst film released under the WWE Studios umbrella.

The Marine was Cena's first real movie, with WWE and the man himself very clearly aiming to emulate The Rock's Hollywood successes, and it's a lot of fun if you're happy to check your brain in at the door. In line with the agenda to make something happen for Cena, the film came with a comparatively huge $15m budget, so it has more gloss than most WWE Studios releases.

There's an admirable level of entertainment, some laughs and a great, hammy performance by Robert patrick as the villain (including a self-referential nod to Cena being "like the Terminator). You can see even from here that Cena would have a big future as a movie star.
