As close as Damon has ever gotten to making an experimental film, Gus Van Sant's Gerry is as simplistic as it strange.

Damon and Casey Affleck star as two hikers lost on a wilderness trail, and attempt to find refuge as they become increasingly at odds with each other and themselves.

There's not much to it, but it makes for an interesting character study that allows both actors to really go deep with their roles, with some decent results throughout.
