Scene: Nick Fury and Maria Hill disintegrate thanks to the Snap, alongside many people around them, but Fury manages to send a distress call to Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) just before he dies.

After the shocking end of Infinity War, viewers were anxiously awaiting the credits scene. Would there be any relief, any hope?

No, not really.

As if viewers hadn't already been through enough, they got another chilling scene of people turning to dust and although Maria Hill's death made no impact whatsoever (no-one gives a s**t about her), Nick Fury's demise was absolutely bruising.

Viewers did get a slight morsel of hope in the form of that distress signal, which was a nice set-up for Captain Marvel, but other than that this was a thoroughly unsettling epilogue that beautifully built upon the film's already-shattering ending.
