Every MCU Credits Scene Ranked From Worst To Best
50. What If...? - Captain Carter Finds HYDRA Stomper Armour
Scene: Having returned to her universe, Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Black Widow (Lake Bell) defeat Georges Batroc (Georges St-Pierre), a villainous mercenary, and then discover HYDRA Stomper armour with someone contained inside.
What If...? was, from top to bottom, a catastrophe. The animation and vocal performances were good but other than that, thanks to the complete waste of its premise, rushed episodes, empty storytelling and (worst of all) complete ruination of multiple characters, there's a strong argument to be made that this is the worst MCU film or show to date. That's right, worse than Thor: The Dark World.
As such, it follows that it has one of the franchise's worst credits scenes - a total, unbridled 'Meh' that didn't feel in any way necessary.
There was no need to make this a credit scene - they could've had this as one of the final scenes before the credits - and out of all the possible credits scenes they could've done, this was maybe the laziest possible option. Why didn't they show something that hinted at the show's future or something with any actual weight?
Still, Captain Carter is a very fun character and it's nice to think of her being reunited with Steve Rogers (who is presumably meant to be the person inside the armour), so that raises it up a tiny bit.
