Every Mission: Impossible Movie Ranked Worst To Best
6. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)
After the game-changing fourth film, the Mission: Impossible franchise has followed a fairly repetitive narrative drive, with Hunt and his team pushed to flee their allies and work alone to save the world from a threat much bigger than anyone is willing to believe.
In Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Christopher McQuarrie made his franchise debut and continued its trend of pushing the action (and Cruise's increased willingness to do anything for a great spectacle) to new heights. And right from the off, with Cruise hanging off the side of a cargo plane and fighting a secret society, it delivers thrills in abundance.
Looking at the films around it, Rogue Nation is probably the safest of the series, not particularly stretching its premise to anywhere daring. But it brings some staggering action to the table, and introduced audiences to Rebecca Ferguson's Ilsa Faust, so it's safe to say the highs outweigh its predictability.
