Every Movie Based On A Saturday Night Live Sketch - Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Office Space

Hey, look, it's another tenuously related film that didn't involve Lorne Michaels in any capacity near the top of the list. Who would've thought? Seriously, though, it has to be a little embarrassing for the SNL creator to watch other people turn his "property" into cinematic gold time and time again, while he continues to convince the general public that he has no grasp whatsoever on the movie industry. Mike Judge only had a few shorts run on Saturday Night Live, and they all centered on the mumbling office lackey Milton, with his boss (played by Gary Cole in the film) as the foil. Even when they aired on SNL, the shorts had a much different tone than the rest of the show. They didn't trade in irreverence so much as they amplified the soul-crushing monotony of day-to-day office life. Once Judge added a full list of characters and decided not to play the thing as a live-action cartoon (as Lorne Michaels would prefer), Office Space blossomed into an, at times, depressingly realistic workplace comedy.
