Every Saw Movie Ranked Worst To Best

1. Saw III

When looking at horror franchises, it's often the original movie which stands as the very best. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Jaws, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, and The Conjuring are all prime examples of this.

Then again, Scream 2 is an absolute belter... but still, the point remains: it takes a truly special sequel to best the film that started it all.

With Saw III, we have one hell of a sequel, with this being the Saw series at its absolute best. Yes, there's the usual traps, torture, and torment, but this is very much a character-driven horror. Here, we get to see the relationship between John Kramer and Amanda get some time to shine, and elsewhere there's a spotlight on dealing with grief and the want for revenge; that being as father Jeff is trapped and has to help (or not) those who played a role in his young son's death and the fallout of this tragedy.

Saw III also further highlights the philosophy of Kramer and how he really does seek to give his targets a way to 'win'. On the flipside of this, Amanda isn't quite so kind, rigging these twisted games so that they're impossible to survive - which in turn eventually leads to Amanda failing Kramer's final test for her.

Of course, by the time Saw III comes to its explosive close, both Amanda and Kramer are dead, but clearly the demise of this threequel's two villains wasn't enough to bring a halt to the beloved series.
