Every Saw Trap Ranked From Worst To Best

37. Saw IV - The Knife Chair

Trap: This was Jigsaw's first ever trap, in which he tested the drug addict, Cecil (Billy Otis), who'd caused his wife to miscarry. In order to escape from a chair (complete with sharp restraints that were cutting his wrists) Cecil had to push his face against a group of knives in order to free himself.

This one was a decent-enough scene, although it's ultimately far more interesting for its narrative significance as Jigsaw's first-ever trap than as a set-piece.

Much of this trap was fine, but Cecil's idiotic death - after escaping the trap, he runs at Jigsaw, who sidesteps and lets him fall into a pit of razor wire - lets it down.
