Every Screen Batman Ranked From Worst To Best
10. Dolphy (James Batman)
In the same year that Adam West first pulled on the famous cape and cowl and almost single-handedly killed Batman for everyone, Filipino comedian Dolphy decided that the world needed a mash-up of Batman and James Bond. Because why wouldn't he?
What resulted was a cold war satire about nuclear terrorism, which clearly had no concerns for minuscule issues like copyright infringement or accidentally horrifying fans of either more family friendly franchises.
While picking apart the plot - which involves a sinister organisation called the Organisation actually hiring Batman and James Bond to foil their own plot - is folly, there is endless pleasure in the oddity of the thing. And even more in Dolphy's batsh*t performance, which blends Austin Powers spoofery with frank and devastating moments of seriousness and surprising violence.
