Every Single MCU Film Ranked From Worst To Best
16. Iron Man 2 (2010)
Considering all the talk about Iron Man being the keystone for the MCU, it's still a wonder that the first sequel was so badly undercooked.
There's a shell of a really good story in there, with interesting pillars focused on Tony Stark's addiction behaviour and the introduction of a dark mirror villain (and his monster side-kick), but it's all curiously misguided and you can almost tangibly feel Jon Favreau losing his grip on it.
Obviously Robert Downey Jr is great, and Sam Rockwell is good (though he's underused), but the decision to cut most of Mickey Rourke's character made him look entirely disposable, and there's way too much focus on empty spectacle without the right balance of heart. And there's a fundamental lack of chemistry between Downey Jr and his co-stars.
