5. Finn & Rey Vs. Kylo Ren - The Force Awakens

The newest lightsaber battle in the Star Wars series is also one of the best, a riveting, emotionally fraught fight as a very, very p***ed off Kylo Ren dominates Finn, with the added danger of his unstable lightsaber making the fight feel totally unique in the Star Wars universe.

Finn gets brutally wounded, so it falls to Rey to use her Force powers to, in an iconic moment, grab the Skywalker lightsaber and take on Kylo herself.

Kylo's ferocious intensity and the awesome, snow-topped setting add a lot to the fight's cinematic appeal. Kylo's recklessness and excessive emotion ultimately allows Rey to get the better of him, but with this of course being only their first showdown, the pair end up separately by deus ex machina to fight another day.

Easily one of the most cinematic, best-choreographed and most compellingly-acted fights in the entire saga, it's still a damn shame J.J. Abrams didn't include that awesome trailer shot of Kylo firing up his saber in the actual movie.
