Darth Vader was the only choice for top of this list. After Anakin Skywalker was severely injured, he donned life support armour and became the Sith Lord, Darth Vader.

With his creepy voice and menacing breathing, Vader stole the screen in his every appearance. He has grown to be one of the most iconic movie characters of all time after appearing back in 1977, with James Earl Jones' voice pairing with the late David Prowse's physical presence perfectly.

Vader was still a deadly villain to face, having nearly defeated Luke Skywalker and also killing Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was an extremely powerful Force user and, as Anakin Skywalker, was key in the destruction of the Jedi Order.

Vader has one of the best character redemption arcs in cinema and the legacy and menace he brings to the screen will never fade away.
