When Phase Five was laid out in its entirety by Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic Con 2022, he also gave a peek at what to expect from Phase Six. Just three movies populated that particular graphic, two of them being Avengers movies while the other was the Fantastic Four.

That kind of says all you need to know about how Marvel Studios views its first offering based around Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. It’s a big deal, and the fans have been waiting for this for arguably longer than any other movie on the slate.

Without question one of Marvel Comics’ most popular properties, the Fantastic Four have never been done to justice on the big screen. The two Tim Story movies weren’t particularly offensive, but they were far from great, while Josh Trank’s appalling Fant4stic genuinely was offensive. Fans have been counting the days until Marvel’s First Family came back to Marvel.

There are so few details known about the movie right now, as it’s essentially limited to confirmation of Matt Shakman’s duties in the director’s chair and a November 2024 release date. Even after John Krasinski played Reed Richards in the Multiverse of Madness, there is still no guarantee that he will return to be Earth-616’s version of the character, but for now that doesn’t matter. All that matters is that the Fantastic Four are coming home.
