9. Nightwatch

You love Spawn right? Well, you're clearly not the only one, given how much fellow early 1990s creation Nightwatch looks like him. He's also got some of the same darkness (albeit without the hellish edge), as his origin has him travelling back in time only to be killed in front of his younger self who takes over the role because of the pull of his destiny.

His powers are great, he's more gritty than Spider-Man and he'd definitely have his fans on the big screen - not least because of the number of... colourful storylines he was involved with. And his nanotech-reinforced suit probably fits pretty well in the post-Tony Stark Spider-Verse.

He's been retconned as a villain for recently, but it's likely we'll see him more as an anti-hero in a move, which was announced alongside Jackpot and Silk in the summer of 2018.
