Fan-Casting 7 Big Batman Villains For Ben Affleck's Solo Movies

6. Jessica Chastain As Poison Ivy

Chastain has been very vocal about the fact she doesn't want to play the girlfriend, damsel-in-distress archetype if she ever did pop up in a superhero movie, and luckily for us, Poison Ivy is about as far away from that as it gets.

The actress even looks a hell of a lot like the character; red hair, athletic build and pale skin, and would be able to flawlessly impersonate Pamela Isley without changing a single thing about her appearance.

She also played a badass warrior in The Huntsman: Winter's War, and while the movie itself was less-than impressive, it showed she's comfortable with action scenes. Poison Ivy needs that athleticism about her, since she spends most of her time wearing outfits with small amounts of fabric, seducing her enemies before moving in for the kill, and Chastain definitely has the look to pull that off.

She's also just a damn good actress, and disappears into any movie she's in - Interstellar, Mama, The Martian, Crimson Peak - with ease. She can bring the necessary looks as well as the acting chops that can make Ivy memorable for more than just her perceived 'sex symbol' status among the DC villain roster.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
