Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: 10 Ways It Sets Up The Sequels

6. The Obscurus Still Exist (And So Too Does Credence)

Fantastic Beasts 5
Warner Bros.

An Obscurus is one of the new introductions to the magical world in Fantastic Beasts, and an important, hugely powerful one.

A dark magical parasite, it's an intriguing concept not just for what it does to those it exits within - Obscurials - but how its power can potentially be harnessed.

A destructive force that can tear down the barriers between the Wizarding World and the Muggle one, you can see its clear appeal to someone like Grindelwald. Believed gone, this movie shows that two have recently existed, so there's a chance more are out there. Even if not, Newt still has one, and Grindelwald knows about it, making Newt a clear target going forwards.

Then there's the issue of Credence Barabone. Although ostensibly killed at the end, it's not clear exactly what happens to him. A deleted scene reportedly showed him getting on a boat, still alive (no idea how), and since Ezra Miller is going to be a big part of Warner Bros' future, expect Credence to make a comeback.
