Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has been in cinemas for a little while now, and though critical and fan responses have both been intensely mixed, it's hard to argue with the fact that the sequel makes a more outward attempt to connect itself to the main Harry Potter franchise.

If the first Fantastic Beasts movie opted to stand more on its own two feet, The Crimes of Grindelwald instead goes the aggressive fan service route, jam-packed with nods both subtle and blatant to not only the Potter movies and books, but also wider canonical materials.

Even if the film itself is a fairly uneven mess of tonal shifts, subplots, characters and ideas that don't quite come together, fans will at least have fun keeping their eyes and ears peeled for the bombardment of visual and aural Easter eggs lying in wait.

Though the full, lore-deepening nature of the movie won't quite be clear until it hits Blu-ray and fans can pore over every single frame ad nauseum, if you're paying attention you should be able to spot the majority of these Easter eggs and references...
