Fantastic Four Reboot: 8 Actors to Petrify as Dr. Doom

7. James Purefoy

I can't begin to tell you how much I think Purefoy could easily personify Doom. He's really not been given huge moments to shine, but he's been an integral part in the majority of projects in the past. I want to take him out of the wings and really give him full drive with Doom, because I think he could possibly make the role as iconic as Ledger's Joker, but of course in a completely different vein and if the script is practically infallible. But he's got the look, the voice, the stature, and what I believe to be the potential for the makings of Doom's newest outings. If you need convincing, check him out in this NSFW clip from HBO's Rome, alongside my favorite pick for Electro, Kevin McKidd. http://youtu.be/EZRXvRUeea4

Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
